Originating in Renaissance France during the 17th century, in which art and architecture flourished, the French door was originally designed as a pair of windows that reached the floor and led onto small balconies.

Over the centuries, there have been many adaptations of the French Door and it is now customary to call any set of double doors "French doors".

In common with all our external doors, we strive to make every set unique and representative of theme and character. Advancements in technology allow us to re-create historic, timeless beauty and function whilst applying modern day security and weatherproofing.
